My latest book, “The Well-Read Game: On Playing Thoughtfully” is a collaboration with Matthew Farber and explores a new theory of interpretive play and “player response” building on the ideas of Louise Rosenblatt, Brian Upton, and Bernie DeKoven. The fifth edition of Game Design Workshop has updated content, interviews, exercises and more. It’s filled with the perspectives from new designers who are on the front lines of facing today’s design challenges and opportunities

Walden, a game has been selected for the Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial, planned to be on exhibit May 10–Jan. 20, 2020, at both Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and Cube design museum in Kerkrade, Netherlands, allowing audiences in both the U.S. and Europe to experience the works simultaneously. The exhibit will feature over 60 projects to demonstrate how designers are collaborating with scientists, engineers, environmentalists, academics and other stakeholders to find inventive and promising solutions to the environmental and social challenges confronting humanity today.

The wonderful folks at the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla invited me to come share my thoughts on Walden at their Square One conference. It was a really wonderful experience talking with their students and seeing the incredible sites of Puebla!
